    Thank you for choosing our homemade cooking tallow! Since we hand-render each batch using traditional methods, you may notice differences in texture, color, and consistency. These natural variations are part of what makes our tallow so unique and high-quality.  

     

    Why Variations Happen:  

     

    1. Every Cow is Different  

       Our cooking tallow comes from grass-fed *and grass-finished* cows. Variations in breed, diet, and season impact the fat’s composition, influencing the texture and color of the finished tallow.  

     

    2. In-House Rendering Process 

       We render every batch in-house to ensure the highest quality. Slight differences in the rendering process—such as temperature or cook time—can lead to minor variations in firmness, softness, or even a slightly oily texture. These differences highlight the artisanal nature of our product.  

     

    3. Natural Color Spectrum 

       Tallow can range from bright white to a warm golden hue, depending on the cow’s grass-finished diet. A deeper yellow color often indicates higher nutrient content, which is typical of well-fed, pasture-raised animals.  

     

    4. Texture Variations: Soft, Firm, or Oily

       Since our tallow is 100% pure and free from additives, you may notice some batches are softer, firmer, or slightly oily. Over time, it may also develop a light graininess—this is perfectly normal and does not affect its cooking performance or flavor.  

     

    5. Storage Affects Texture 

       Our tallow responds naturally to temperature. In cooler conditions, it may become firmer, while warmer environments can soften it or cause some oil separation. These changes are natural and have no impact on quality.
